Domestic manufacturers Certification Scheme and Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme

Normal Procedure of Domestic Manufacturers Certification Scheme
Submission of the properly filled application form, relevant documents, and the fee is mandatory for any production unit that intends to take a BIS license. The industrial unit should present these papers to the branch office of its jurisdiction. After fulfillment of the registration method, the BIS personnel will conduct verification procedures to ensure the potentiality of the creation unit or the applicant to meet the norms of Indian Standard. Parameters like the technical ability of professionals of that production organization and its product testing foundation are judged as part of this verification process. Both independent checking and on-site product sample testing are handled to judge the capability of the applicant or production unit. BIS license is provided in case the product sample clears imperative tests, if the primary assessment of product quality is up to the specified standard of BIS, if the applicant agrees to execute necessary testing or checking procedure and if the applicant makes payment of a requisite fee. In case all the above-mentioned methods are managed systematically, then the applicant is granted a BIS license within four months after registering. It may take six months if the product is licensed to be marketed over in India.
Simplified Procedure of Domestic Manufacturers Certification Scheme
While a part of this procedure, the person applying for the BIS license has to register testing papers from assigned laboratories with his/her application form. The license is given if BIS personnel are happy with their onsite scrutinizing method, if the applicant accepts to force required checking and testing methods and when the candidate makes full payment of license fee. Although independent individual testing is an imperative part of the onsite checking procedure of BIS, however, this testing is not recognized as a prerequisite for approving the BIS license. But the analysis report is used later for the review procedure.
Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme
Manufacturers or applicants located abroad are given license for ISI authorization under different schemes within six months.
